THE LODGE GUEST SERVICES

Access

As a guest on the Kenton Eco Estate you will be required to sign in at the gate and will then have free access to the game reserve and be provided with an electronic remote control to access the beach and lagoon – all included at no charge.

Hospitality

On arrival, you will be welcomed by Philip Saki the house manager of Umthi Lodge. He will take care of you during your stay at Umthi Lodge and answer any questions. As all-round house manager, Philip takes care of the house, pool maintenance, cleaning and the immediate natural landscape and watering hole. Philip is on call and ready to serve daily at the house to make your stay an enjoyable experience.

Philip is a fluent Xhosa speaker and grew up in the area immediately around Umthi Lodge – so he has excellent local knowledge of this African region and its local traditions. His Xhosa name is Wandisele which means “to enlarge your experience” and that is his passion and commitment to the guests of Umthi Lodge.

Services and Cleaning

Umthi Lodge is serviced and cleaned every day and sheets and towels are changed weekly – this is all inclusive in the rates. The house has its own water storage facility with a capacity of 60,000 litres of rain water and in additional has main water supply as back-up. Electricity is included in the rates, but we do ask for an additional donation at your discretion should you wish to use pool heating.
